Easy Waffles From Scratch

my go-to for weekends, making them in batch helps kids have breakfast during the week

Ingredients

makes about 16 dash sized waffles

  • 240g or 2 cups bread flour (all-purpose is fine too)
  • 50g or 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 53g or 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 12g or 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 7g or ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs (100g)
  • 2 cups milk (227g)
  • 57g or ½ cup oil (I use olive oil)
  • 4g or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • preheat your waffle iron, I like smaller ones.
    • A belgium waffle iron works though you will result in much fewer per batch, like 4:1
  • In one bowl mix the dry ingredients minus the sugar
  • In another cream the sugar into the butter and mix in the wet ingredients
  • Combine the dry into wet without overmixing
  • Dollop about 1/4 cup batter onto waffle iron
  • When removing, let them cool on a wire rack to avoid sogginess
  • eat fresh or freeze without squeezing out the air so they can separate
